Principal Terry Shannon has more than 20 years of first-hand experience covering DEC, Compaq and HP as a journalist, consultant and analyst. Shannon has written over 500 articles, delivered hundreds of keynote addresses and presentations at user group and industry events, and is frequently quoted in business and trade media.

Prior to launching Shannon Knows HPC ten years ago, Shannon was one of the first analysts to join Illuminata and was the director of the DEC Advisory Service at IDC. Shannon has extensive technical experience as a computer operator, programmer, and system manager on various Burroughs, Compaq, DEC, IBM and NCR machines, as well as on military systems.
